Winter Wednesday

The frosty embrace of winter has been among us here in NYC, making us chilly New Yorkers flee for warmth! And there's plenty of places to find warmth in my city! I want to share with my readers a picture summary of what winter has had in store for me, along with many warmth filled moments!

No captions, no descriptions, just captured instances.
A picture's worth a thousand words, so here's my winter story!

❤ SSS Valentine's Day Rescue! ❤

Luh-luh-LOVE is in the air! All over and everywhere! I am the ultimate sucker for all things LOVE. Nothing like lovers who indulge in each other's presence, essence, and embrace. Love will warm the coldest hearts, the lonliest souls, and can bring together masses of people. We have all experienced some sort of love, and most importantly fought to hold onto it. Wether the love survived or moved on, we can all relate to the beautiful life-zesting warmth that fills our hearts when in love. I am a true believer that there is no bigger power, nor bigger energy than LOVE, defeating even the darkest of forces. No place, no experience, no wealth, no THING can compare to the force and beauty of LOVE! And that there is such a beautiful and majestic existence...

Valentine's day celebrates love and lovers throughout the world! Everyday is a day for love, but Valentine's Day just makes the day a little bit sweeter. A day to embrace that special person that makes you feel like you're on top of the world. You don't need to spend mega bucks to honor your lover. Nor result to extravagance. You'd be surprised the impact thoughtfulness can have on your beau!. Mixed in with a little bit of effort and a dash of creativity, you got yourself the ultimate Valentine's Day gift!

SSS is here to help you put together the perfect gift for you beau! Affordable, thoughtful and bound to impress... Check out my Valentine's Day gift ideas!

Quick&Easy Thanksgiving Day Pumpkin Pie!

Thanksgiving Day is here! One of my favorite holidays! I love to eat, and I love to cook, specially deserts. This year, I decided to bake a classic Thanksgiving Day pumpkin pie for my family's Thanksgiving dinner.

Check out my quick and easy, last minute Classic Pumpkin Pie recipe!

Pumpkin Pickings and Pumpkin Carvings!

Fall is in the air and all of the cozy fall activities that comes with it! One of my favorite things to do during the Autumn season is going pumpkin picking. You can do so much with a big orange pumpkin... carve it, eat it, use it for decoration, and even blog about it!

This year I stopped by one of my favorite places in my home borough: Queens County Farms. The ultimate place for all things fall. At QCF you'll find pumpkin picking, hayrides, a huge corn maze, apple cider, locally grown fruits and veggies, a carnival, and even a blue ribbon fair featuring award winning agricultural showcases.

Check out how my pumpkin picking and pumpkin carving went this year!

A Letter to My Readers

Peek-a-Boo! I've Missed You!

HELLO AGAIN!
Oh how I've missed my baby! I've neglected you for far too long...!
An immense apology is owed! Along with an explanation! No worries, I have both!

But before I jump into all of that, I want to thank anyone and everyone who still checked into SSS blog for updates <3 Also, anyone who inquired about my absence. You guys have no idea how awesome that makes a girl feel! February was quite a ridiculous month for me, so your support is highly uplifting! Thank you tons&tons!

So what was to blame for my vacancy? Long story short, a terrible cold/flu/germ that took over my unexpecting immune system and shut me down for a good 2 weeks. And as I've mentioned before, I stay far away from my computer when I'm ill. I was doing pretty bad folks, rushed into the ER and everything. But thank goodness I am SO much better now! I was sickly handcuffed to my bed for days, causing me to be hella backed up on everything else in my life! Once I got better, I jolted up and began catching up on gig$. Responsibilities first, of course! And due to my lack of energy and life, my living space had piled up into a complete mess, calling for a habitat renovation! I can't function unless my surroundings are immaculate, so that itself took some time. And in between all of that, I still had to attend different events (shows, fashion week, valentines day dinners, shoot & video gigs, etc). And even though I still managed to attend and cover different happenings, I still missed out on many others!

So now it's a new month and I have taken care of 75% of everything that I had neglected. Thus leading me back to my baby! I owe you TONS of updates in which I will have posted for you within the next hours-days. I have plenty of content that  I've been unable to publish due to all of the above.

I hope you guys understand my absence due to my hectic month of February, and still believe in your girl SSS! A massive SSS update is due and about to hit your screen in a few, so stay tuned!!

Happy 2012 to my beautiful readers!!

Kissy Kissys!!!

Just wanted to take the time to wish my readers a Happy New Year 2012!

I hope everyones New Years Eve was spectacular! The picture above is one of the very few pictures I have of my NYE. I of course took tons of pics that night, specially since I had designed my own NYE dress! But unfortunately my iPhone 4, debit card, and ID card were all stolen that night. My night was amazing up until my belongings were gone. It was incredibly heartbreaking moment to me, being that I'm not an individual that loses such meaningful items!! But even though my first hours in 2012 began quite difficult, I don't let such negativity defer my strive! On the contrary, I am inspired to skyrocket upwards into positivity rather than anoint any type of negativity. After all, 2012 is the year of the DRAGON, and the DRAGON happens to be my Chinese zodiac sign! So you can expect TONS of superb SSS spectacles in 2012!

Once again, I hope everyone had a spectacular NYE
and may your 2012 be blessed with love, prosperity, and unstoppable successes!

Holiday Outfit Brainstorm!

With all of the holiday madness among us, it's only natural for us ladies to have all of the more reason to go shopping and get dolled up, which both happen to be two of my absolute favorite pastimes! I've been searching high and low for the right holiday outfit, mainly for New Years Eve... the night I embrace my inner glam goddess the most! I am very picky when it comes to my eventful outfits, always shopping with a particular look in mind. I've tried to stray away from my tunnel vision as much as I can, since it only makes shopping harder when I act so stubborn with myself! Anywhoo, here are a few lovely pieces I found while on a serious style surf! Along with the links back to the sites where the pieces can be found. I visited sites such as Asos, MotelRocks, and NastyGal. Let me know what you gals think!

Mini Tour of the SSS Lair!

To those whose curiosity extends beyond limits and wonder what the SSS lair may look like,
you're in luck.

I am a huge believer of feng shui, and have decided to welcome the new year with a new surrounding. I have been doing some remodeling around my house, a lengthy task that I enjoy doing very much! Kind of the reason behind my time-out from blogging. Amidst my re-organizing I decided to take a few snapshots of my work in progress, and details that surround my life at home. Since it's a sneak peek, I won't go into details nor lengthy picture captions. So let your imagination run wild if you must ;)

Tee.Kay.Elle Xmas goodies!

Nothing makes me giddier than goodies in the mail!
But better than that, are goodies in the mail from one of my favorite girls! For the holidays, fellow blogger, model, fine artist and good friend Tee.Kay.Elle sent out X-Mas goodies cards complete with beautiful stickers. And finding one of these in my mail this weekend, definitely made my day!

Check out the Xmas treat after the cut!
And please, try not to get too jealous ;p

Cancun Lovin...!!

Hello my loveliesss!!!!

It's your girl SSS checking in after a very blog-neglectful hiatus..!! And my reason for such abandonment is in the hands of my little teddy Richard in the picture above. Yes, the absolutely GORGEOUS city of Cancun captivated my mind soul and body just within a matter of days. And I must say, it was one of the most life changing, inspirational, and magnificent week I have had in my entire 23 years of life!!!!

Within the last week, I spent my days falling helplessly in love with what I now consider paradise. Mexico welcomed my thirsty curiosity, anointed my intellectual and carnal desires,  and soothed my ever-so-agitated state of mind!! While in paradise, I not only indulged in turquoise blue oceans and an all inclusive lifestyle,  but I also went on fantastic adventures! From trailing preciously historic ruins, to swan diving into magical cenotes, and exploring all Mexico's remarkable culture and traditions!

Its so hard to put in words what a phenomenal time I had! But I CAN share my adventures with you guys through SSS blog and the tons of documentation I did while in paradise! So if you're interested in taking a tour of my time in Cancun, stay tuned for my upcoming posts: Cloud 9 Cancun!

New York's Comic Con 2011!

At last...!!! The time had come for all of NYC's imaginative aficionados to rejoice in comic book euphoria. Yes, the 2011 New York Comic Convention hit the Jacob Javits Center from October 13th-16th 2011. Comic book enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds, and throughout all of the five boroughs attended the phenomenal convention. Some transformed into their favorite childhood characters, comic and video game characters, role models,  and even favorite toys!

If you've followed my blog long enough, you would know about my long time devotion to Archie Comics, and the Archie fanatic in me just cannot miss a single NYCC... so I of course HAD TO attend! Apart from the Archie indulgence, I also love to engaging in the quirky comic book fun! Not just comic books fill the JJC, but also cosplay, movies, video games, anime, and all things that scream pop culture! Expressive, inspirational, and brilliant... the NYCC is an annual event that any New Yorker, no matter the interests, will find simply incredible fun!

Check out my NYCC fun!

Pumpkin Carving is Just So Charming!

Tis the season for all things spooky, creative incognitos, and pumpkin carving!

Ever since I was a little girl, I'd look forward to the month of October for all of the reasons every kid does! But one of the small things that would always catch my eye, were the gorgeously glowing Jack-o-Lanterns. Growing up, I never tried carving a pumpkin of my own. And now at 23 years old and always seeking all kinds of creative outlets, I've decided to give pumpkin carving a shot. And I am so glad I did, having discovered a lovely Halloween passtime!

Not to toot my own horn, but I think I did a pretty awesome job creating my first Jack-O-Lantern! I found the craft to be incredibly relaxing, therapeutic, and inspiring. The kinds of influences I love to embrace!

I documented my pumpkin carving experience through a step by step procedure, hoping to give off some crafty inspiration! Check it out and maybe you'll want to bring some pumpkins to life too!

Oh, don't blame us. We're just human.

*No fancy pics. Just my inner thoughts unleashed. Spare yourself! ;p

I came across an article this week, covering a recent study. The study was one of those studies that showcased social networking's effect on our society today. Now, when I read through these studies I myself take a step back and completely agree on how they've come about their conclusions. That's just what happened with this research.

A whole 4 1/2 sentences in and I haven't even filled you guys in on the specifics of the study. Please excuse me. The study showed how misconstrued our views on each others lives are, when viewing each others lives through social networks. I have a tendency on repeating myself in an explanation so please, excuse me once more, as I give you a better example.

So you're surfing (or what I like to call "lurking") through facebook one dull insominiatic night, when you stumble upon a new album on your news feed, uploaded by an old friend. An old friend, a humble plain Jane perhaps. Well, since you guys knew each other at one point, maybe you'd like to take a quick gander at this new album and go on a mini tour into your old friends recent lifestyle. The gander turns into an absorption as you click away picture after picture. Link after link. And as you flip through this pixelated photo album, you begin to subconsciously create a lifestyle review based on your friends new album. And boy, does she look happy. Constant smiling, hugging, fun, dancing, peace signs,  drinks, posing and OH who's THAT guy? From the looks of it, your old friend is doing quite well. Very well actually. One thing leads to another and your curiosity has taken ahold as you find yourself lurking through other albums. Profile pictures perhaps? Ah yes, the good old profile pictures.  And lets not forget those ever-so-telling status updates.

As assuming as we all are, you come to a subconscious conclusion of what a fantastic life your old plain Jane of a friend is living now. And as human as we all are, we intuitively compare this life to our own. Oh, don't blame us, we're just humans. And for some odd reason, our perfectly/moderately healthy, happy lives just don't seem all that interesting anymore. You may even go back and check out your own profile. Almost as if you are reviewing yourself. Funny thing, how we review ourselves.

And so I go back to this study I mentioned priorly. Our views on each others lives are greatly exaggerated when seen through the multi-pixelated screen. This exaggerated view can be a positive one as it can be negative one. A pictures worth a thousand words, but through the internet we seem to up its value by 450%+. Our imaginations run amok wether we like it or not, and this right here is a wonderfully dangerous thing. For as human beings, we subconsciously compare everything to ourselves. Compare ourselves to what could be an incredibly inaccurate assumption one made within seconds. A comparison that can lead us to a cynical view on our own lives, which can then lead to thousands of unnecessarily negative feelings about ones self.  Jeez never thought facebook could be so sobering! Almost like a coke high... you're sky high when you're on it, but come crashing HARD down down down. And no, I have never done coke. I don't even drink coke.

I was just happy a couple of researchers shed some light on this.

I don't usually write these types of posts anymore. The ones where I ramble on and on, exercising my inner intellects, just typing away without grammatical hesitation. Just releasing my thoughts. I don't do many of these because it seems to me that my blog has become less and less personal. And as grateful as I am for every single person that comes across stephiesosexy.com , every click is another piece to the uniform. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this shit. It's a hobby I am so grateful I anointed. A hobby that has surprisingly opened doors for me and who knows, might open up a few more. But I have filtered my content, almost without even realizing it. And yet, I still need one of these ramble-ramble posts now and then. I think my last one was when Amy Winehouse passed. That was difficult for me, but I found comfort blogging about it. Funny.

I doubt anyone will read all of this.

And yet I ask myself, did I even write this with the intention of it to be read?

Wisdom Tooth Terror!

Hey loves! Just wanted to update you guys on why I haven't been as attentive to blogging lately... I have been suffering from what every 20-something year old goes through: the terrors of the WISDOM TOOTH! Yes, I have become a victim of the horrors this age brings. And I've been in-and-out the dentist every day! I have some sort of wisdom tooth complication (FML!) and will be seeing the doctor and a surgeon quite often within the next week or so. This tooth has been killin me and forcing me to stay in bed and live off meds and liquid food. That's enough to make a girl go CRAZY!!!  I just updated with a few posts, and will continue to do so unless my evil tooth forbids me from doing so! I'm hanging in there on tons of meds and painkillers ;( So if you follow me on twitter or instagram, you will most definitely see me venting my pain away ;(  Wish me luck!!! <3

SSS covers FashionWeek @ HellionMag.com!

As I mentioned before, I was caught within the fashionweek MADNESS last week via the Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek SS12. I promised to show you guys more on the shows I had the pleasure of covering for HellionMag.com, and here I am with previews of each show. As frenzied as the experience was, I absolutely loved the adventure of it all! I met lots of wonderfully talented people, interviewed world-reknowned designers, went behind the scenes and witnessed the backstage excitement, and got to document it all! All of the shows were absolutely FANTASTIC but my favorite was the AnnaSui SS12 collection.. shhhhh!!!

I want to thank my photographers Eve and Al for being such GREAT SPORTS and my editor James for giving me the extra push during the HECTIC week!! T'was a great experience!

SSS does FashionWeek @ HellionMag.com!

Hello lovelies! It's SSS checking in!

I must explain my blogging hiatus to my loyal readers. If you follow SSS on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook you already know what's been keeping me SO M.I.A. I've caught a serious case of FASHION WEEK FRENZYYY!! It's that time again in NYC where a fashion fever has plagued the city! And yours truly is amidst those contagious!

For those of you who don't know, I write for Hellion Magazine, a superb source for social events, music, movements, fashion, and trends. Working with Hellion Magazine, I have been covering the Spring/Summer 2012 fashion shows at the Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek. I have 1+ shows a day, everyday. I've been a fashionable bunny rabbit hopping from show to show, runway to runway, designer to designer, and backstage to backstage!

So far, it has been a remarkable experience! Apart from attending stunning fashion shows, I've also met so many incredible people and have gotten the chance to interview groundbreaking designers! I then gather all my info and compose coverage on HellionMag.com for all to see! I've had 2 FANTASTIC photographers/assistants alternating at my side at every show helping me keep my sanity :)

Everyday it's a new fashion adventure! Keeping me as busy as a bee, if not BUSIER!
So my poor baby (StephieSoSexy.com) has gotten neglected ;( But no worries!

Visiting the Meadowlands State Fair!

The State Fair Meadowlands in Secaucus, New Jersey celebrated their 25th anniversary this summer. I am  a HUGE fair/carnival/feast enthusiast so I made it my mission to visit. Once there, I fell in love with the 1950's feel in the air. The vintage carnival stands, classic magic shows and freakshows, the smell of cotton candy lemonade and funnel cakes, all stole my heart while walking through the vibrant fair. Thrill rides, lights, exhibitions, petting zoos and fantastic fair fun everywhere you looked!!! Sigh, I wish this place was availiable year round!!! Knowing it wasn't going to be around for long, I brought along my handy dandy Canon and snapped away at as much of the fun as I could, so I can share it with you. And hopefully inspire you to visit next year!!

Check out the fantastic time I had at the Meadowlands State Fair!!

Puppy Love For Sale!

Hey Loves!!! Allow me to introduce you to this honeysuckle-sweet puppy. The last one left of my doggies recent puppy litter, and my absolute favorite.  He has a variety of names such as boo, booski, hunny munny, and other cute pet names  that come to mind when I see him.

Reason why he doesn't have a set name, is really because I've always been very indecisive on keeping him or not. When selling my other pups, I'd always hold hunny munny on the side for myself. Out of the entire litter, he was the fastest learner, most energetic, and definitely the most adorable one! Plus he was keeping his mommy in good company. Curious, quick and bold learner, VERY playful, and VERY affectionate <3

But now I've come to the conclusion that I've no time for two doggies. Having my doggy Tinky is enough of a situation for me to handle. It truly breaks my heart to have to give up my hunny munny. But I've realized I have to. And it's either now or never since he's at the perfect age to find a new home and be able to quickly adapt.

So here I am trying to find my precious gem a loving home.
