DOPE▲OVERDOSE interviews SSS!

DOPEOVERDOSE.COM is a Street Life blog embracing the urban culture and style uprise throughout NYC and abroad. DOPE OD brings you the latest Street Wear fashions, music, technology and even beautiful ladies! Supporting both SSS and Street Wear line RIOTS & ROSES, DOPE OD got to know me in a recent interview. Troy Paraiso, D.O.D's editor in chief asked about my views on Valentine's Day, travel musts, and what's "So Sexy" about SSS!

Troy Paraiso: Though you don't do much fashion modeling, you do support dope Streetwear brands like, Riots & Roses. What is it about Streetwear that attracts you?
SSS': Theres a lot of character behind Streetwear. Streetwear always has a story to tell along with a bond to the average joe, which happens to dress fresh to death. I love the passion most Streetwear designers pour into their work, while still honoring simplicity. Sometimes, you can even see the beautiful struggle behind a Streetwear brand. Starting from the bottom, and climbing to the top. A journey most of us can relate to.

Troy Paraiso: Tell me, what is it that makes Stephania Arenas, so sexy? Is it your smile, is it your eyes, or is it your seducing manner in your photos?
SSS': All of the above, lol! To be honest, Stephania Arenas isn't the sexy one, it's Stephie that's the one being SoSexy. StephieSoSexy loves to embrace her sexiest feature of all, her confidence. Confidence is the ultimate ingredient in sex appeal. SSS' also believes that self love is what truly brings all the boys to the yard, ;). There's no other belief that SSS' pushes harder.

SSS in Straight Stuntin Magazine!

Hey loves!
Your girl SSS has made an appearance in this month's issue of Straight Stuntin Magazine! HOT97 's DJ JUANYTO gave me an interview for the issue, touching upon what it is to be a Latina in NYC, an influencer, and the inspirations behind SSS Blog.

DJ: What made you get into blogging?

Writing in general has always played a big role throughout my life. I’d always keep various journals growing up, then once the internet took over my journals went from pen and paper to keyboard and screen. That’s when my blogging began. I first began blogging on a personal level, sort of like venting to cyberspace. Growing up, I kept my privacy to myself and began blogging about more general things in my life. Once I noticed my blogs effortlessly gather a large following, is when I took my blogging to another level... I began inspirational blogging. And here I am.

DJ: What influenced you into modeling?

Bills Bills Bills lol I began modeling when I started living on my own and paying rent, around age 20. Finances were tight. A friend of mine made extra cash by modeling and suggested I give it a shot. Once into it, my modeling was fluently successful. A year in, I was getting contacted by various publications and companies for work. All without an agent. I then took my modeling more serious when I saw it as a way to lure people into checking out my blog. Worked very well, actually.

DJ: Who would u like to work with in the near future?

I would like to work with organizations that positively inspire upcoming female generations. Helping build confidence and self love into growing young ladies.

Check out the rest of my interview as Flava of the Month inside Straight Stuntin Magazine issue #25!

Super huge S/O to @DJJUANYTO from HOT97!

Amazing SSS Portrait by Irene Sanchez.

Hello loves! I wanted to take a moment to give a special shout out to graphic artist Irene Sanchez. Irene designed this amazing portrait of me pictured above. I was BEYOND flattered when she showed me!! Not only is Irene's work flawless, but I can tell she is very selective in who she chooses to make a portrait for. I'm honored to be one of her selected few! Irene, thank you so much for this gorgeous portrait, I have had it as my screen saver ever since you made it lol!

Check out Irene's blog at

and check out more of her beautiful work after the jump!

Imagine picking up your mail and receiving a pair of super cool, rare, fashion-forward eyeglasses. A brand new pair of stunner shades, every single month. Bringing you a brand new look each time. Well, that's what the superb people at StunnerOfTheMonth.com bring to the masses. Based out of California and reaching out globally, StunMo is a monthly sunglasses subscription service. For just $9 a month, StunMo mails you a pair of rare unbranded eyewear,  hand picked by their world wide scouts, who spend day and night searching for the freshest, juiciest eyewear. A stylish idea brainstormed by four friends in San Francisco, the StunMo movement began in 2009 and has taken over with worldwide suscribers. An idea as amazing as StunMo was bound to skyrocket!

Being the style gurus they are, StunMo maintain vibrancy all throughout their headquarters. Linking up with phenomenal mural artist MisterBouncer, they gave their offices a whole new look, bringing to life a breathtaking mural modeled by yours truly SSS.

T.Shirt Releases "Coming Up" Video!

Queens rapper T.Shirt blessed the masses this week with the release of his new video "Coming Up" off his album "The F*ck".  Directed by Ronin of HotMopFilms , "Coming Up" is an ensemble of T.Shirt's effortlessly sick flow, incredible background art (by URNY), sexy ladies, and a heavy dose of New York City demeanors. The track itself is addictive, leaving you wanting more. And the contagiously fun video just adds to the addiction! T.Shirt is an artist you absolutely must check out and you can start by downloading his album HERE along with checking out illrapper.com

Yours truly got to join the fun shooting the video, and definitely had a blast doing so! T.Shirt was an absolute charmer, Ronin was hella sweet, and everyone else was just as awesome! Make sure to check out the video posted above (keep an eye out for my cameo!) and peep some behind-the-scenes shots after the jump!

SSS x Faces & Names!

Photographer and superbly creative individual, David Zayas Jr. has masterminded a new photographic project called "Faces and Names".  Consisting of a set of 9 pictures, each one a peek at the subjects personality through various gestures, the middle picture covering the subject's face with a meaningful item. A concept so simple yet inevitably captivating, David has had tons of great feedback and eager participants. With over 200 muses, David's series has taken off with great popularity and is sure to skyrocket once exhibited. Yours truly had the pleasure of joining the fun with my own expressions!

After checking out the series, I was absolutely thrilled when David himself contacted me about shooting. All he asked for was a creative "centerpiece", which I had a bit of a hard time choosing. In the end I chose my girly golden name plate, "Steph" in script. So me. Shooting with David was so pleasant! Charismatic and comfortable, David helped me out when I ran out of expressions, directing and bringing out naturally amused shots. I was surprised at how quick and little he photographed, while still producing some super awesome shots! That is absolute talent!

Above is my "Faces and Names" shots...
And check out some of my favorites after the jump!

A Big Fat 100k Thank You!

I send out TONS&TONS of appreciation and gratitude to my readers!!!!!!

Fall for Your Hearing Damage by The R.O.A.R

Check out my good friend Steve's aka The R.O.A.R 's amazing video for his sMASH UP song "Fall For Your Hearing Damage".  A Drake and Thom Yorke fusion, brilliantly put together by The R.O.A.R!

The video is a beautiful composition featuring The R.O.A.R and actress/singer Sura Contin aka Love. Telling the story of a young couple sharing a sweet and nostalgic sunny day on the boardwalk. Throughout the video you get a feel of amorous affection with a sense of afflicted love. Sura Contin's sensuality is overwhelming in intimate bed and shower scenes. As The R.O.A.R brings his acoustic guitar to life and vocalizes the sense of inevitable warm relation.

Directed by Hassan Kinley, co-owner of Karin and Raoul Magazine.
Produced/edited by Darnell White of Who We Are Studios.

SSS featured in Privacy in Public's blog!

Nothing flatters me more than when I see dynamic and inspirational individuals complimenting my work. It truly makes my day! I had the absolute pleasure to be featured upon Privacy in Public's blog recently. Privacy in Public is an ever-growing, NYC based clothing brand established in 2007. Carlton Yeito, founder of P.I.P, surprised me with the lovely post on the brands blog, introducing SSS to the P.I.P audience! An absolute delight!

The concept of Privacy In Public is based on you as an individual. Put yourself in a situation where your surrounded by dozens of people, suddenly you drift off into your own world. Not realizing everything around you. That is Privacy In Public. Being able to tap into your inner conscious at any point or time to help visualize an idea from what you see around you.

A beautiful concept that all of us can intimately relate to. Privacy in Public embraces fashion ideals while  bringing forth a humble, positive energy. The boldly approached designs carry such deep characteristics to them, that each piece seems to tell a story by itself. A beautifully unique label that grants causality through a striking demeanor.

Take a look at Privacy in Public!

Technodrome x SSS

Logging onto Facebook one night I expected the usual mundane updates. Obnoxious promoter event invites, a few message inquiries, a photo comment here and there etc. And as dragging as facebook can get, this login was a bit different. Upon logging in I came across a photo that blew me away.... that photo is the gorgeous artwork you see above.

Joshua Williams is the mind behind the quixotically manifested creator otherwise known as Technodrome. Revolutionizing familiar faces through his visionary expressions, NYC based Technodrome embraces a whole new twist to the common portrait. His creative endeavors influenced by a Basquiat-Warhol fusion, Technodrome see no boundaries when handpicking his characters. SSS being one of his latest recruits, I am incredibly flattered by such gesture! Specially when coming from such a bold imaginative.

Check out more Technodrome personalities after the jump!

ZILLADIDIT x SSS

Eccentric, bold, and superlative. I'm speaking about none other than the graphic artist, ZILLADIDIT. Scanning through his work, you inevitably enter the mind of ZILLA. A world of chromatic brilliance intertwined through curious characters and abstract compositions. Mesmerized through his use of trippy hues, you become inevitably curious of the mind behind each vivid piece. That right there is a true artistic impact.

With that said, I am beyond flattered to present to you a ZILLADIDIT x SSS fusion!

Instagram 8x8 Gallery Exhibition

If you've followed my blog long enough, you would know I am an avid Instagram user. And every Tuesday, I present you Hipsta-Insta Tuesdays, showcasing images of my week through both Hipstamatic and Instagram. I've been using Instagram for exactly a year now, way before it got hella trendy! But I am glad it got popular because it is a fantastic photo application which has managed to built up an incredible following. Boasting more than 8million users, the app has grown increasingly in a very short time, and even had Facebook offer $2billion for ownership of the app. Thankfully, Facebook's offer was turned down.

Amongst todays many social networks, Instagram has to be one of my favorites. The Instagram community gives off a very welcoming and inspirational vibe. Users share bits and pieces of their everyday lives, hashtag, capture beauty in the most simple things, or engage in themed photography. All through Instagram's fun filter effects. Users can comment and "like" each others pics, creating a fun IG bond.

With a following of over 8 million users, the Instagram community was bound to bring their IG galleries to life. And so they did via the 8x8 Gallery Exhibition at Mosaic Skate Shop & Gallery in the Bronx. A gathering of 15 IG users showcased their IG photographs, creating a collection of 44 images all beautifully framed throughout the gallery walls. With approx 200 guests, the turnout was fantastic!  Making the very first annual IG gallery an amazing success!

Yours truly SSS was there, documenting all the IG fun and meeting alot of amazing people!

Check it!

Interviewing VintageCultureNewYork!

Vintage goodies? Who can resist?! Embracing a classic lifestyle, Vintage Culture NY is an online shopping haven for the vintage aficionado. Created by New Yorkers Zoila Sylvester and beau Zach Darton, the two thrift store enthusiasts share their passion for classic simplicity by bringing us VCNY. The online boutique recently celebrated their establishment with a VCNY launch party at Rouge58 in Brooklyn, New York. On behalf of Hellion Magazine, I had the pleasure of not only attending the event, but also interviewing the creators!  It was a delight getting to know the pleasant couple and their inspirational story. Zoila with her charismatic vibrancy, expressed the couple's devotion to everlasting style. While Zach keen and coherently, explained the influences behind VintaguecultureNY.com.

Ascension Art Show

If  you've followed my blog, you would know by now how much of a huge supporter I am towards artist Masahiro Ito. A man of many hats and pure, raw imagination. Masahiro has been on a roll, showcasing his work throughout his sole exhibitions this year. Kicking off his wild streak with  Eye of the Wolf, which brought in great success. He then followed with Ascension, which was a bit like a "part deux" of Eye of the Wolf. Masa always has a great following of loyal supporters consisting of fellow gifted artists, musicians, models, bloggers, and the art-appreciative crowd. Ascension showcased Masa's lovely designs, modeled by a few gorgeous ladies... some photographed by Masa himself..!! He's a  jack of all trades, I must say!  Shots from my "Thunderwolf and his She-Wolves" post were a part of the exhibition.
